With its "RE/MAX: Racing for Life" slogan, 2002 marks the beginning of a partnership with RE/MAX International as a proud co-sponsor of the National Series Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program at Komen Race for the Cure® events.

Along with Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, RE/MAX will honour breast cancer survivors by providing the signature pink t-shirts and caps for survivors to wear during Komen Race for the Cure® events. Race participants also receive "In Memory of" or "In Celebration of" back signs to honour a friend or loved one.

The facts about breast cancer

• During the 1990's, approximately 1.8 million women and 12,000 men were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.
• This year, an estimated 182,800 women and 1,400 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.
• Approximately 40,000 women and 400 men will die of breast cancer this year.
• Breast cancer is the leading cancer site among American women and is second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths.
• When breast cancer is confined to the breast, the five year survival rate is over 95 percent.
